The Factorio developers announced Friday they are pulling the release date for version 1.0 from September 25, 2020 to August 14, 2020 because, “We think any release close to such a monumental game is going to feel some negative effects,” which is a fair assessment given CD Projekt Red is the most valuable video game company in Europe. The developer’s made Factorio’s release earlier rather than later because planned additions for the initial date announced last November have been cut, and extra time was budgeted for delays that is no longer necessary to abide by since “the general feeling in the office is that the game is pretty much done....

Facebook Gets Ready for Election Day Chaos According to a report by the Financial Times, Facebook vice president of global affairs and communications, Nick Clegg, commented that Facebook is ready to respond to a potentially unrestful presidential election. Clegg said that Facebook has some “break glass options” if things descend into chaos. Although Clegg didn’t state any detailed measures that Facebook might take in case of a violent Election Day, he did say that the platform could “restrict the circulation of content should things get chaotic....

Ireland’s data privacy regulator recently asked Facebook to prove that an LED indicator light on the social media giant’s newly launched smart glasses is “an effective means” to let people know they are being filmed or photographed. The glasses contain cameras that are intended to allow users to document their daily lives. “Just the thought of someone with these glasses in a public place gives me the creeps,” privacy expert Pankaj Srivastava told Lifewire in an email interview....
