For those who are not familiar with Fairy Tail, it’s a fantasy manga created by Hiro Mashima that follows the adventures of Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, and other members of a guild of magicians called Fairy Tail. The story focuses on the land of Fiore, which is filled with powerful dragons, monsters, and other dark creatures wreaking havoc.
The manga went on for nearly 500 chapters, so only time will tell how much of the story this game will cover. Nonetheless, there is a ton of rich content it could explore, especially with those who are helming the Fairy Tail project.

Gust Studios will be handling the development of the game while Koei Tecmo takes care of the publishing. The developer has made nearly 50 games in the Atelier series, alongside games like Nights of Azure and Blue Reflection while Koei Tecmo, on the other hand, has published iconic games like Nioh and Dynasty Warriors. Hiro Mashima will also be overseeing the development, with it being promised to be a faithful recreation of his world. Because of this, it’s safe to say that Fairy Tail is in extremely experienced hands.
Sadly, so far there are no extra details regarding the game, but the publisher did announce that there will be more details at this year’s Tokyo Game Show on September 15 during its Fairy Tail special stage stream. In the meantime, fans can watch the latest Fairy Tail reveal trailer to quench their thirst for the game.
Fairy Tail launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch sometime in 2020.
